The Cost of Raising Children

by

The cost of raising children is growing at an astronomical rate.  No, really, I’ve been documenting just the money we have spent since my son started kindergarten the first week of August and we’ve already far exceed $1K.  I am so not kidding.  Every time we turn around they are asking for money for this or that.  We took a field trip last week to a Pumpkin Patch which end the end cost almost $100 alone.  I am so not kidding.

If you wanna read more about this, check out the article on LHJ and you can see just how great the costs can be over the lifetime.  Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t take anything for my children.  There is no amount of money in the world worth having instead of my children.  But, if you read the article, you can see where people like me waited til they were older to have children simply because they didn’t feel they could afford them sooner.

And, for all that love we share in this house, I’m glad I waited as long as I did to have children…maybe, just maybe I can offer them a better life this way.
