Planning For The New Year
I’ve realized that I’ve spent so much time talking about homeschooling that i’ve been neglecting working out what I want to do onw and in the future. I am the kind of person who needs a plan to work from. I don’t always follow the plan, but just having one written out makes me feel more relaxed. So it’s time to set down and really work on my short and long term plans. And you get to help me.
Next week I am going to work on planning things out. Each day, starting Monday, I am going to write about a different aspect of working on a homeschool plan. And I hope that everyone will join me. It should be a great week with lot’s of information and ideas. And there might just be a great content at the end.
So I hope you’ll come back here on Monday and see what I’m planning, add your own tips and advice, and look for a great give away for the homeschool mom in your life. Subscribe to the feed to make sure you don’t miss it, and let everyone know to come by too.

Last year I planned out our year lessons for every week with activities prior to starting the year. Big mistake!! I abandoned the curriculum half way through the year. This year I made a scope and sequence of what I want to cover and then planned how I am going to plan each week. I then made myself and each of my girls a personal planner and had them bound and printed off at Kinkos. I think this will work well as I won;t have to start from scratch with each week’s pland but I also don’t have to do a tons of pre-planning for the year that I might not use.

PS I do have pictures of the planners up on my blog if my explanation here didn’t make sense

I’ve been trying to work out our new year here as well. There are alot of things from last year that either worked or that I didn’t get to use that I want to do this year too. We’ll definately be doing more field trips, lapbooking, notebooking, art, and fun stuff.
