More on having a purpose.
When I asked on Monday if others had a purpose when homeschooling I got a great comment. Maureen from Trinity School Prep linked me to a similar post on her blog. She writes about having a vision statement to guide you in how you want to teach your children. She encourages everyone to work on their own vision statement for their family then share a link in her post. I think it could be a grat way to not only stop and think about what you really want out of homeschooling, but also to share and enjoy what others have shared.
Here is a great quote from Maureen on creating her family’s vision statement.
Developing a family vision statement …. or in my case, a paragraph, requires one to reflect on core family values. What is your vision for your family? Think long term …. what legacy do you want your children to pass onto THEIR children? Choosing action verbs in stating core values, creates an overall implementation plan.
