About Jerri Ann
Let me see if I can briefly tell you a little bit about me as well as my hopes for this site. First, about me, I am an almost 40 year old mother of young boys. I got a late start but I managed to do a lot while I was young that simply isn’t possible when you have children. So, I’m dedicated to my children and my husband. I believe that parents are the most important educators in a child’s life. So, even though this site was previously dedicated completely to homeschooling, I want to explore all methods of education.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, physical education and a Master’s in Counseling. I firmly believe that my experience as a teacher in the public schools, teaching physical education, health, life science, earth science, biology and chemistry will help me as I go about helping my children learn. I have taught in the public school system for 5 years and trust me when I tell you that I did almost everything during those years. I taught Pre-K in Georgia one year and I would definitely say that was one of my most trying years. In addition to this, I owned a daycare as recently as last week. Currently I have a child in kindergarten in the public schools and I am attempting to prepare my three-year-old for school as he won’t have the added benefit of daycare/preschool.
I welcome all conversations in reference to educating our children, all I ask is that you be respectful of your fellow readers and commenters. I hope we have a good time sharing ideas in reference to educating our children.
