I’ve Got Nothing…

by

I would love to write a well thought out post that would bring tears to your eyes and shine upon homeschooling in a glorious and beautiful light.

tired womanUnfortunately that isn’t going to happen any time soon. I’ve got a pair of boys recovering from rotovirus where one just moved into his own big bed and isn’t adjusting well, and another has been giving me lip and attitude nonstop for days. Well thought out posts ain’t happening around here.

I’m not sure whether to label this as the good or the bad of homeschooling. On one side we’re all learning the little lessons. Like how to get along with each other, what to do in case of sudden vomiting, and why not to throw a fit about wanting pancakes at 7 in the morning when there are no eggs. And yet on the other side we’re all chomping at the bit around here and a nice 8 hour break from each other would probably do us all good. Ah well, at least we’re not having to get up, get dressed and out the door. I’m barely functioning, getting dressed really is asking too much.

Since I’m too exhausted to think let me send you over to Are We Killing Kids Creativity?. It’s something to think about.

Sorry to hear you all are having a rough time of it. We will be thinking about you today, and hoping for your family’s quick recovery!

BTW, we had some kids over for lunch yesterday, and they had a long conversation over pizza about where and how many times their dogs had puked, and what it looked like. I have a theory about kids’ fascination with gross body functions- it is a sort of immunization against their futures as parents- when you have to do more than talk about it- you actually have to clean the stuff up.

Oh no! Sounds awful! I hope you all get better soon.

I feel your pain Summer! At our house it’s not the pucky stuff but it’s the colds and coughs instead. Still makes for grumpy attitudes and not so bright days. Hope everyone is on the mend at your house soon! Here we’ll just be relaxing and enjoying some Star Wars movies. May the Force Be With YOU! ;)
