Homeschool Cruise

by

Did you know that there was a cruise just for homeschoolers? Neither did I! (if you answered that yes, you did know, well why didn’t you tell me!)

It’s called Homeschool on the Sea, or HotS. I only learened about it recently after The Homeschool Mom wrote a review on the cruise she just came back from. And I have to tell you, I’m beyond envious! Check this out:

Your children and teens (up to age 18) will be provided with not only a fun trip with all the
amenities aboard Royal Caribbean’s amazing ships, but an educational experience that will
provide the basis for studies for years to come!
• Secular INTERACTIVE lessons and activities are structured to your child’s age group and
homeschool learning style, in Science, History and Current Events. Topics include: ecology,
threats to ecology, colonization, political climate, government structure, economy, and
culture.
• Our lessons and activities are developed and given by Homeschool moms with professional
educational experience and years of homeschool association and activity planning experience.
• Learners and their families can attend group classes, complete independent study projects,
and small group projects.

• Upon arriving at one of the ports of call , families will have the opportunity to complete the
HotS Quest, a memorable adventure for the whole family.

• Get out your blankets, cause we’ll also have a little night-time learning, featuring the
HotS Star-Gazing Slumber Party.

Come on now, tell me you’re not as excited as I am. Since reading about it I’ve been working in my head all sorts of plans of how to ave up enough money to go. It sounds like so much fun! And next July there will be an Alaskan cruise heading off. I’ve always wanted to take a cruise ship to Alaska. This would just be the icing on the cake!

I’ve been daydreaming about it for months now, sorry I didn’t share. It sounds so wonderful and educational but not exactly something that fits into the low budget homeschoolers plans. : ( Hopefully I’ll make enough money one day blogging that I will be able to give my children the opprotunity. If you find a way to go you must share how you did it, and tell us all about it when you get back. : )

This would be so awesome to do for my boys. Ok - for me too! Really though, laying all jokes aside, to give my boys this cruise would be just the most rewarding for them. I have got to check into this.
