Finding Homeschool Conferences

by

seminar - Benis Arapovic

It’s almost Spring and with it conference season is picking up. During the warmer months homeschooling conferences, conventions, and book fairs really begin to pick up. You can usually find out about local ones coming your way by joining your local homeschooling groups. But there are some for whom this isn’t an option.

My favorite place for finding out more about the homeschooling conferences going on is the event calender from A to Z Home’s Cool. It is listed in chronological order and lists which state for each event. You can just do a search for the two letter code for your state to find everything listed on the page. Also if you click on your state’s abbreviation it will take you to the regional area where events, legal information, online resources, and much more is listed.

Home Education Magazine also has a calendar of homeschooling conferences that you can browse through. Though this one is not as organized it does provide a more detailed description of the events.

The Home School Mom also has an area for you to explore the various conferences and conventions that are coming up near you. Just click on your state to see what will be in your area. Each state’s page also has listings for resources, legal help, and even local classes and co-ops you can be a part of.

These are the sites I use when I want to see what is going on locally for homeschoolers. Does anyone know of any other great sites that give state by state event calendars for homeschooling events? If you know of one share it with everyone else!

Be sure you check out this week’s Works For Me Wednesday for tips and advice.
