Blah Day

thermometerToday is one of those days when I almost wish I could just send the boys to school. I’m down for the count with either a stomach bug or food poisoning. Either way my body aches, I’m exhausted, and the bathroom has become my room of choice. The boys, not feeling well themselves, are feeding off of my inability to do much of anything. There has been a lot fighting, screaming, hitting, and kicking going on.

However there have also been some great moments. They were up far too early this moring, so while we munched on gram crackers for breakfast we all three curled up on the couch and snuggled. That was far better than trying to get them off to school any day. And then there was a moment that I passed out on the couch and woke to find them at the table coloring together. It was really sweet to see my oldest take the time to help his little brother by getting crayons and a coloring book down. Sure, the wall also got some artwork but that’s a small price to pay to see them being nice to each other for 5 whole minutes.

Since I can barely move without feeling queazy today is a good day to go check out the Carnival of Homescooling. There are a lot of good posts there this week so it should keep me entertained while I lie here. For you unschoolers the Unschooling carnival is taking entries right now. Also for you unschoolers my favorite unschooling parents are setting up an online community for everyone to go hang out. It’s still being created, but worth bookmarking and checking back on later.

OK, I’m feeling ill again so it’s time to get off the computer. Anyone want to drive down to Oklahoma and take a pairof grumpy boys for a few hours? I’ll pay you? Any takers, anyone? Rats.
