Another Great Carnival of SAHMs!
Welcome to the 25th edition of Carnival of SAHMs. This week there are 17 awesome entries to read and enjoy. I think that may be the highest number of entries yet! I hope you will find the time to read through the posts submitted, and don’t forget to submit your own for next week’s carnival!
I love starting off with a smile, it sets the tone for the entire day. In that mood here’s something to smile about. Silvia presents Fun with Boxes posted at Po Moyemu–In My Opinion, saying, “If you have a lot of boxes left over from the holidays, grab some packing tape and have fun!”
There’s nothing like a little PSA in the morning too. That’s Public Service Announcment, in case you were worried. Tiffany Washko presents Kids Won’t Eat Bentos With Spit In Them posted at Bento Lunch Box.
Speaking of eating food away from home, here’s Alfa Mercado presents Healthy Eating When You are Dining Out posted at Wellness Junction by Kavit Haria.
Just remember that while there are ways to eat healthy when eating out, it will almost always cost more than eating at home. Skipping the fancy meals out is a great way to keep that budget in line. Meredith presents Become Your Husband’s Hero posted at the simple nickle, saying, “How can you become like Michael Jordan or James Bond in your husband’s eyes? You may not have an amazing vertical leap, but you have what it takes to really ‘wow’ him. How can you become your husband’s hero? Make smart moves with your money.”
One smart move: think about what foods you are buying and whether you are paying too much. Wenchypoo presents More False Economies posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.
Of course we all know how to be a hero in our child’s eyes, and it rarely costs a thing. pickel presents Faulty Toys and How to Fix Them posted at My Two Boys.
Fixing broken toys is just oneof the many moments a mom can make her children smile. SingForHim presents Taking Time to See the Light(s) posted at Real Life, saying, “These kinds of moments are what great memories are made of.”
Admit it, there are some memories you wish you could erase. I know, it’s not all sunshine and roses. Amanda presents True Mom Confessions-The Truth About Motherhood posted at Pajama Mommy.
Unfortunately those kinds of moments keep coming back again and again. Rose presents Sundays Can Be Rough posted at Learning at Home.
Quick! Finish this line: “You know you are a Mom when……..” Erinn presents Moms posted at Parenting Children.
Remember when you were still a brand new mommy? So full of dreams and ideas. Back before the messy truth set in. Ahhh, those were the days… Lauren Franklin presents Once upon a time… posted at Finding my mommy voice.
And pregnancy, remember the newness and excitment of that first pregnancy? It almost makes me want another. Almost. mercurial scribe presents Dear Miriam - T-minus 14 weeks posted at Mercurial Scribe.
Now, with some parenting time under our belts we often find ourselves looking back at what got us to where we are now. That’s just what one mom did, in three parts! piscesgrrl presents Unschooling Q&A - How Did We Get Here? Part III posted at Wistful Wanderlust, saying, “This is part III in an on-going series in which I discuss our journey from mainstream to unschooling. In this particular post, I tackle one of the hot button topics - tv and screen time.”
Though, it isn’t just the kids that turn moms into the hardened creatures we are. Sometimes dad gets in on the fun of driving us bonkers. WhatWorksForUs presents Hi-Def Hell posted at What Works For Us.
OK, so he can be useful too sometimes. Like when you’re stumped on 34down. Susan Coghlan presents At home with my crossword puzzles posted at Red Writes: How to stay sane as a parent at-home.
Moms can have varying ideas of what is OK parenting and what isn’t. Discussing the differences can help us learn to see eye to eye. pickel presents Going Against the Grain?Attachment at Its Best posted at A Child Chosen.
Heidi Saxton presents Story Time! posted at Mommy Monsters Inc., saying, “Especially for adoptive parents, this post offers tips to help parents transmit their family “story” to their children. Written from a Catholic/Christian perspective.
I thought I’d end this edition with a tear jerker. It’s a sweet poem that will have you running for the kleenex. Jenny presents This made me cry » the so called me posted at the so called me.
