Abuse?

by

empty classroomEvery year, for an average of three months, millions of children here in America suffer abuse and brainwashing at the hands of their parents. This “summer vacation” is the open door that many parents need to begin their deranged cycle of abuse.

Of course there is no proof, but that is hardly needed. Look at the facts. For three months each year the schools close. Close! Millions of children are sent home to be with their parents. There, with no daily supervision by trained professionals all sorts of horrible things can happen. Of course there is no way to know what kinds of torture these children endure as abuse is rarely caught in the home. Without the aid of a professional teacher watching over these children five days a week there is just no way to know what happens.

These parents may be causing more harm than just abuse. Some attempt to teach their children things, read to them, help them prepare for the next school year. Can you imagine? Hordes of untrained, uncertified parents attempting to teach their children. It’s a frightening idea. Without professional teachers we have no idea what these parents are actually teaching their children. The brainwashing that surely occurs makes a person quake in terror.

I say that parents be required to have certifications before attempting to parent thier children unsupervised during the long summer vacation. They should also be required to report back to the professional teachers during the vacation months to make sure that they are parenting their children correctly. It may also be prudent to require psychological profiles created of these parents. We have to do every thing we can to protect and ensure our children’s futures during this vulnerable time. Even if that includes making summer vacation illegal.

Does that sounds crazy? Now you know how we feel.

YES! And all of those stay-at-home moms with kids under the age of five. WHAT ARE WE THINKING? These poor, helpless babies!

I say that you can only be a SAHM if you are certified by the state in early childhood development, and even then, you must never be alone with the children - always have another certified adult present.

Otherwise, it’s just a free-for-all for abuse. How could we be so CARELESS in AMERICA?!??

    *snort*

    I heart Summer.

  6. Stumped Says:

NO, No, no, you have it all wrong. The teachers should be required to work in the real world for periods between teaching. Hopefully some make use of the opportunity. Is notthe complaint from businesses all the time that the stuff the kids learn is not relevant. Most jobs do on the job training so why bother with anything past elementary reading and math skills. Schools press the kids through the system anyway, whether they have the skills or not. Bring in the apprenticeships so that children can be taught by people who ACTUALLY know what they are talking about. Why waste all that money, would it not be better for a young engineer to be trained by a person who is in the field. Even university students need to be retrained when they get on the job! The professors seem to be a bit too intelectual to be part of the common world. Why waste 6 years of schooling on someone if their dream is to work at Walmart or McDonalds. Let them get an education when they are ready for it, not when it is forced on them. Or maybe their parents could just teach them for a while about what their options are and they can enjoy some good literature without it being cut into shreds by questions the authors could not answer correctly. School is a big waste of time, education is worth every second.

Frightening, isn’t it? And what about those first 4 or 5 years? What are we thinking sending those helpless babies home from the hospital with their parents?

  11. J.C. Says:

Oh and not only that but we must make sure all children are eating the right amount of healthy food! Can you just imagine untrained parents trying to feed their children? All parents should be required to be certified in nutrition before they can feed their children. If they are not trained then they should have to report to the state every week just what they fed their children, when they fed them and how much. How dare these parents think they can feed their own children. LOL.

  12. Sandra Foyt Says:

No, no. We don’t have to make summer vacations illegal.

We just have to require summer assessment tests.

During the summer months, kids are liable to be brainwashed into thinking that learning is FUN.

Even worse, they might actually enjoy reading. Arwk!

Tests! I say, we need more tests.

Let’s take NCLB to the next level: No Summer Left Untouched!

  13. Activities Coordinator Says:

Suburbancorrespondent - Y’know…when they brought me the discharge papers at the hospital after my first child was born, I actually thought, “These people are actually gonna let me take this child home! Are they nuts?” :)

It was the moment I grew up.

BTW - We love summer. (The season. We love Summer, too. But that’s another comment.)

    P.S.
    Still love snark. More please.

  17. Jaime Says:

The worst of this is, too many people don’t think this is crazy. (Maybe a bit exaggerated, but not crazy.)

Has anyone seen that show on the PBS, “A Place of Their Own?” It’s directed at stay at home parents (and “caregivers”) - ?nannies? grandparents?) It’s a basic parenting course with a ton of “early literacy” and “readiness” (for what is always the question, but you know what I mean.) Top that off with a growing movement in many states (mine included) that have special “intervention” programs designed to steer kids into pre-schools and “literacy” programs as early as toddlerhood.

Many, many, many people apparently think that no, we (as parents), can’t be trusted with these little ones even before they get to school.

  21. Heather K. Says:

I think this is great, but it doesn’t go far enough. Parents should have certification to be parents at all. Heck they should be certified before they are parents. Lets make everybody out there that is having sex take mandatory training in public school teaching. After all we should all know how to get children to walk in a line, raise their hands, and ask to pee. Think of the children!
